Tyler Campbell, Lucas Blackett, Keir Blackett, and Matthew Reid recently competed in the Scott FireFit Championships – a competition based on fire fighting tasks commonly performed in emergency situations. There are many different levels of competitors, from the seasoned 10 year veteran to the first time rookies. The competition is VERY demanding and requires serious conditioning.
Congratulations to Vanessa Gallant, Jamie MacKenzie, Tyler Campbell, and Keir Blackett for earning their Firefighter Level 1 Certification.
Level 1 certification is defined under the NFPA 1001 standard which identifies the minimum job performance requirements (JPRs) for career and volunteer fire fighters whose duties are primarily structural in nature. It includes competency in the following fields:
